Edit profile does not let me modify my email address.

Gold member. Can you send information to me, too? The email address you have for me was hacked and closed a few years ago. If you send to that email I won't get your message.
If you will send us a Customer Support request with your current email and the email you would like us to change it to we are happy to update this for your Insiders profile. If you want to change your personal information on your Marriott Rewards profile you can change this by going to your "profile" at Marriott.com there is a line called "Personal Information" and an edit button to the far right. Click there and you can update your email.

marriottinsiders should be able to assist you by creating a customer service ticket at Get Help > Customer Support. Just keep in mind that the form may or may not work. A DM to communitymanagers will work as well.
