Looks like a new Mega-complex that’ll include both a JW & an EDITI0N on the Las Vegas strip will open in 2020. It’ll be attached to the expanded Convention Center near Stratosphere & the W/SLS Properties

Isn't really in the best area of the Strip. I usually stay at the Mirage. But maybe this will bring some better things to that area. Circus Circus is creepy! All clown anything needs to be removed.
Very interesting. I always find myself at the Real Caesars Palace for its location but I would welcome a Marriott on the strip. Vegas is the only city I don't stay at a Marriott. I don't really count the Cosmo, it's an awesome "hip" place but they dont really care if you have Marriott Status or not.
The closest Marriott to the strip otherwise is the MVC Grand Chateau.
Las Vegas Vacation Rentals - Villas | Marriott's Grand Chateau
Just stayed at the Grand Chateau and loved it, platinumboyforever, on our first (and last) Vegas vacation. We're not smokers, gamblers or drinkers so having a smoke-free oasis to retire to only 1 block off the strip was a huge plus for J and I. We did have duplicate reservations for the same dates at the Cosmopolitan but let them go in favor of the Grand Chateau. I tried to figure out a way that staying at the Cosmo made any sense for us, especially with outstanding reviews here on MRI, but like tommy_gunn said, I understood that without a significant gambling investment, our "status is worthless." And why stay somewhere where you are not wanted A pass through the Cosmopolitan further reinforced our great decision. C
That said, at the Grand Chateau Marriott Vacation Club we did experience a 10 minute interrogation from the Concierge when at check-in we were told that as Platinum Elite, we would be given a $25 credit to spend on food and beverage. We just needed to take the $25 voucher the Concierge Desk across the lobby for them to add the credit to our account. At the desk, we were passed off to a second Concierge who took the voucher and looked J up on their computer. She verified his name, Platinum status, number of points and nights in our account with us. Then she said that she would like us to attend "a presentation" and for that, she would add 30,000 points to our account, or give us a $200 gift card, arrange for us to attend a Vegas show, or comp the last night of our stay at the Grand Chateau. There was no mention of what the presentation was about - we knew, but without a pre-qualification question of "Would you be interested in hearing about how you could become a Vacation Club Owner" or the like, we were left wondering how this old-style sales pitch was effective. Possibly, the "Concierge" was rewarded by how many contacts were bribed into attending the presentation and not by how many purchase. We declined the presentation and she did add the $25 credit to our account. C

100% to both ... it is the only major city I travel to for work (many tech conferences held here) where I have never stayed in a Marriott. Love Cosmo, but status is worthless and frankly the price is often not something I want to try and pass-through my expense report. Hope Marriott expands in LV.
The Renaissance has the only Concierge lounge near the strip. I have stayed there many times. Unfortunately they joined all the others in charging resort fees. My other go to place is the JW in Summerlin, but a bit far from the strip if that is where you want to spend time.
Good stuff verysuiteboy
