Help with a "Guarantee"

One of the Platinum benefits is a 48 hour guaranteed availability.  When I called the Platinum reservation line this evening, however, I was told that there were no rooms available at the requested hotel since it was sold out (my requested date is 6 days away).  Does this mean the "Guarantee" is of room availability is only valid when there are rooms available?  This doesn't make much sense to me.

 

I didn't want to complain too much to the person on the line since there is only so much they can do.  My question is where do I take this next?  Is there somewhere else I can call?  Any help you all can provide would be great.  Thanks
