I have been platinum premier elite for many years. I checked today and I'm just platinum elite now. Also I see I am no longer gold status with United. Checking to see why this is??
communitymanagers replied to this in the rewardsplus announcement. Unfortunately PPs are renewed to united Silver in 2018.

Also talked about in the following thread:
Platinum Premier 2018
However, keep in mind that they did bring in Hertz President's Club for PPs.
this status exchange seems very one sided. Gold UA gets gold Marriott, but Platinum Marriott get not UA Platinum, not even UA gold buy lowly UA silver. Why not at least match status
The Marriott Plat Premier to United Gold match hasn’t been renewed this year. So all PPs are now Silver at UA.
The lack of Plat Premier status is a result of the new programming on the facelifted website. They haven’t programmed Plat Premier in! Yes, it’s that simple! If you use the App, you’ll find you’re still PP on that, or go to marriott.co.uk which still uses legacy infrastructure, hence you’re still PP there too. In fact you’re still PP, but the new website doesn’t show it! The likelihood is that PP is to be superseded by a new “biggest dog” category in the forthcoming combined scheme to be announced later this year, hence Marriott believes there’s no need to program it into the new web infrastructure...
thanks very much Bob. Good to know i'm still PP, but disappointed about being downgraded to silver with United.
Thanks for clarifying. Had no idea if I was still PP in 2018. Hotels would tell me I am, app says PP, but website says Platinum Elite. Wasn't sure what was going on!
This thread has been totally overtaken by the new elite levels and the changes it has wrought to cross recognition.
Marriotts new Plat Premier (75 night level) receive United Silver. No level receives United Gold anymore.
United Gold and above recieve new scheme Marriott Gold which is the new 25-night level where the main benefit is access to free upgrades.
I have always been a member of the Marriott program, but even when I got the UA Gold status through my PP status, I never saw an actual benefit in terms of upgrades. UA Silver is even that much more of a downgrade.
I have to say I got spoiled while we had status match with SPG - they had a partnership with Delta and I got upgraded to FC on just about 50% of my legs, as well as never flew less than Economy+ (Delta Comfort) without paying.
Am military, so do not get to choose my airline - and fly economy of course to save the taxpayer $$.
Would be nice to have Marriott actually bring in a program that works for us little folks who don't have a corporation paying for us to fly biz or first!
