Are the rollover nights from 2017 credited ? My rollover nights is still showing zero so far, I believe by now the nights should have been in?
Rollover nights posted on January 15. If you don't have any rollover nights, there is a good chance you didn't earn any for 2017. One thing that often trips people up is that they forget to exclude any rollover nights from the previous year (in this case 2016) in the calculation. If you didn't have any rollover from the last year, it's a little easier to calculate.
One easy way of figuring rollover nights would be to add all your paid and redeemed stays from last year. Add to that any "promotional" nights such as the birthday elite night credit, any nights earned from the MR credit card and any nights earned due to "rewarding events." For this accumulated total, you then need to subtract the number of nights needed to renew whatever status you had at the end of the year (i.e. if you were Platinum, subtract 75 from the number you calculated).
One other thing to note. If you failed to reach the number of nights needed to renew you status (i.e. you were Platinum and ended the year with say, 65 nights), you would not get any rollover nights. If you drop a level (back to Gold) you automatically earn zero rollover nights.
How many rollover nights did you think you should have gotten? It might help to figure out if you are missing any or if you just calculated incorrectly.
Thanks for your reply. I've hit 65 nights in 2017, unfortunately I'm short of 10 nights to hit Platinum for this year. I was thinking that they might just rollover the 15 nights when I dropped to Gold status. As of now I'm still holding on the Platinum status.
I learned the hard way a few years back. I was Gold at the time and ended up short of renewing my status. I though I would rollover whatever nights were in excess of the 10 needed to be Silver, but that's not how it works. I dropped to Silver and earned no rollover nights. Here's the Elite Rollover Nights FAQs Page. Note the 4th bullet point on "Key Information" explaining what happens when a member "downgrades" to a lower status.
If you were unable to retain your existing Platinum status, you will end up dropping down to Gold when the levels reset in February.
Mine have been posted for about a week or so now.
