So just checked in and out of this place, the Breadsall Priory Marriott Hotel and Country Club.  I only booked my one night stay here due to its useful location half way between north and south of England and lucky enough to have a priory room.

I knew it had some ancient features but this goes with out saying this comes often in the UK.  Turns out this lovely hotel is the oldest marriott in the world, according to its door sign and is a grade II listen building,  established in 1266 and rebuilt later on.  With some exceptionally older features such as stone arches.  It held a G8 environmental summit in 2005 and It was even the home of the grandfather of Charles Darwin.  Now home to an 18 hole golf course.  Fascinating place, such a great find full of grand history.  Best find of 2018 so far for me.
