I have recently used some Qantas Frequent Flyer points to get a cut-price booking at the JW Marriott in Dubai (not the Marquis).
The booking ref they gave me is not of the format I'd expect for a Marriott booking, and when I spoke to Platinum services they said they could see the booking, but were unable to update the booking with my Rewards number.
So my question is:
1. Even though I booked via Qantas, will I still be treated like a Platinum guest?
2. How can I make the hotel aware that I am a Platinum guest before arrival, as we will need early check-in, and consideration for an upgraded room?
