In the new Marriott.com website when you make a reservation you are no longer presented the option of creating a calendar reminder. Who can we contact to have that feature added back in? I live and die by my calendar.
Not sure who you would contact (Web team?) but Google and Microsoft already do this automatically via bots when the reservation confirmation hits the inbox. Marriott's calendar reminder feature was a bit clunky and required several manual steps to be performed but works none-the-less.
My problem is that I have to remember to manually delete the reservations which I placed on hold and later cancelled. When the cancellation email shows up in my inbox, Google or Microsoft don't automatically remove it from my calendar.
Oh well, at least half of the bot automation works.
The bots also work with my iPad now. I seldom have to add my Marriott stays manually! Delete works part of the time, as well
I also liked this feature and would request it back. While it's true that Outlook and Google are automating this process, it only works from certain providers. At our company we're forced to use an outside travel agency to book our travel through and they are not a supported provider. While the process took a couple of clicks from the Marriott website, it was much easier than manually entering the information, especially for those of us who travel extensively.
I concur. Bring it back!
Dude! This x 1000 ... noticed this after I went to book 2 or 3 trips for work, and the new website, while very nice redesign, for some reason no longer has the calendar invite loaded. Why??? What on earth would cause Marriott to stop this. Like, every business traveler I know uses that feature.
what gives?? communitymanagers
This new website is no more useful than the last. Sure it has newer JS and a CSS but it is NOT any more useful. I still am forced to login and then hit back button twice to get where I started. Its like they copied a new template but forgot to review what people actually try to do. I really really hope they take a seriously look at telemetry and redesign a the whole thing. Example: please tell me which hotels provide free breakfast. Which ones have lounge for Gold/Plat. Allow me to select a hotel category or larger without auto reloading between each click. Allow me to search a hotel by proximity to an andress on the first click.
The fact that a calendar has been removed shows they have no real SLA for telemetry for business travelers.
you win again ... 1000x on why they don't list C-Lounges and breakfast etc in the features list on the front page of each hotel. Would seem so simple. Agree on the search functionality with selecting categories without reloading. Lot of very basic features are lacking for such a huge organization that can REALLY BENEFIT from upgrading to modern technology and a badass platform. No one gets to your hotel without using your front-end platform. Why is Airbnb's 100x better? Marriott should have more money and resources. Really mind boggling if you think about it. The calendar invite removal is just stupid..
I also use Google trips and am constantly annoyed that it doesn't remove cancelations. But it's otherwise very useful and easy to manage. The new Marriott website and app seem to be works in progress, and for awhile my reservations were mixed up, not in chronological order, or some were just plain missing. I'm hoping things get straightened up soon.
This might help a few folks with this issue. I also miss being able to download the calendar invite from the website. Through the Marriott app on my android phone I am able to add the reservation to my calendar. When I select the reservation from the app I can then choose more options and there is a button to "Add to Calendar". From there I choose to add it to Outlook calendar as I use Outlook on my phone but it would also allow me to add it to google calendar or I assume others.
