Has anyone had issues getting 10 nights/3x points for hosting a rewarding event? If the hotel is a bit unresponsive, who do you suggest contacting?
Yes, big time or twice. The hotels refusing to credit points, because they either don’t understand the rules or simply want to cheat.
Anyways, the only thing that seems to work is calling MR service reps, however, they are usually not trained on this subject and simply cannot believe what you tell them about the triple points for events - even though it is right on their homepage Marriott.com.
Once you have spent hours talking to the representatives who do not simply hang up because they don’t believe you, one of them will finally call the hotel and more often than not they will keep ignoring you and you have to wash rinse and repeat. I know got the points for one of the events now (3months later), but no success yet on the other one (despite the fact that I got an email from the hotel stating they understand the rules an will certainly credit points to my account).
How did you fare?
I booked 18 (2 day) events in 2017 and only got rewarded for 3 of them. I have spent hours going back and fourth. It makes me really upset.
