Looking to go Snowboarding over Christmas and looking for what the best place that has a Marriott to stay at. Recommendations?
Marriott Mountainside in Park City.
Awesome heated pool and hot tub area.
True ski in, ski out property.
Good one wally3433, and Summit Watch in downtown Park City is just across the street from the lift (and I'm pretty sure the relatively new Autograph has easy access, both to the good snowboarding (but avoid Deer Valley Michael - no snowboarding allowed).
Weston Whistler, BC. It is a SPG hotel but you get status match so unless you need the night credits for your status it is a great location. It is located adjacent to the main gondola so less than 50 yds from ski/snowboard storage to lift line. Whistler is very snowboard friendly from what I can tell (I am a skier-tried snowboarding once and banged my tail to hard). Not sure where you are traveling from but Vancouver airport is nearby and there are shuttle services to Whistler from the airport or you can drive from Seattle but it is about 4 hours by car. I fine the airfares into these two locations are much better in the winter than a lot of the Ski Resort areas.
Park City alright...most likely better rates than Vail even though the ride into Eagle County Airport near Vail is OUTSTANDING!!!
For Heavenly resort, at South Lake Tahoe, NV, the gondola lobby sits between two Marriott Resorts: Timber Lodge, and Grand Residences by Marriott -- both are MCV properties. The covered walk from each hotel lobby to the gondola is approximately 30 feet! To keep the slush out of your room, there is a ski/board/boot storage room, at each Marriott, between the gondola and the warm hotel lobby.
For casino fun, there are tunnels from the hotel/residences to the group of South Lake Tahoe casinos, eliminating the need for warm clothes or from having to cross any streets, for entertainment, gaming, dancing, dining.
During warmer weather, this is our family headquarters for ATV treks, in the mountains overlooking Lake Tahoe.
Marriott, Quebec City, Canada - and snowboarding not the only attraction here!
