I don’t have the current promotion under my account although I would have already qualified for the free night Based on my hotel stays.

I am registered to earn points for my hotel stays...is there something else I am missing out on? I do allow Marriott to send me emails.
On every promotion Marriott runs, some people are left out. Whether that is by design or just an oversight, none of us know. It happened to me twice in a row a year or so back (I was Platinum at the time). It has nothing to do with your status. It's just something that happens. The easiest way to address the issue is to call the customer service line. They can sign you up in less than a minute. You might even see if they will count your past stays toward the bonus.
This same thing has happened to so many participants on this forum over the years. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Don't fret and don't bother trying other methods to get signed up. A phone call to the Marriott Rewards Guest Services line is by far the best and quickest way to get signed up.
p.s. there are a couple way to bypass the automated voice on the other end of the line. erc's favorite is to say "I want to combine two Marriott Rewards accounts." That always works. Another option is to say "agent." When the robot voice tries to get you to explain your issue, just say "agent" again. You'll be connected to a live person as soon as one is available.
