Outstanding Customer Service - First Class Staff at Courtyard Cranberry South Brunswick NJ

Our wedding party booked about 35 rooms at this hotel last weekend. We arrived on a Thursday night, and were very concerned about the construction in the lobby. Construction workers were in an area directly adjacent to the function room we were using for our welcome reception on Saturday night for about 60 people. We thought it was going to be a disaster, as the lobby and bistro areas were under construction. We spoke with Summer, the GM, and Mike the Catering Manager, and Summer assured us that the lobby would be looking good when guests arrived on Saturday, and for the welcome reception Saturday night. Candidly, as we looked around, we found that very difficult to believe.

However, the staff did a fantastic (surprising, amazing, incredible) job, preparing the lobby area for the welcome reception, and worked arduously to arrange the function room and adjoining area to accommodate our specific requests. They "temporarily redecorated" the bistro lobby area, added extra tables, and arranged for almost all our guest to stay on the newly renovated 4th floor (which looked great). Beyond Summer and Mike's individual attention to our function, Sydney and Travis worked on the setup and serving for our function. I'm not sure where they found these two individuals, but their pervasively positive, customer centric attitude is a credit to themselves and to Marriott. They must have been working double shifts, as they served me coffee at 6:30 am, and were cleaning up after our event finished around 10 pm, always showing a positive demeanor, and happy to assist with whatever was requested. Erin, Alex, Kam, Kris and Silvia helped with the serving of food, and room assignments, and were always attentive, professional and cheerful. We worked with a large number of the Courtyard staff, and thought they were a first class organization.

There were three wedding parties staying at this sold out hotel, and I have no idea how Summer could have made us feel that we were her top priority. The wedding was held at the Park Chateau, which is less than 10 minutes away. We chose the Courtyard because of its proximity to the venue, and because of our consistently positive experience with the Marriott brand. As a Lifetime Platinum member, who stays at many excellent Marriott hotels around the world, it's a pleasure to nominate Summer and her excellent staff for the Spirit to Serve Award.
