I just completed a 12 day stay at the Residence Inn, Palm Desert CA. While there, the pool landscaping was being made more desert friendly. The workers were courteous but the pool was a place of digging up, moving rocks, dumping rocks. blow drying the dust, and general mayhem.
I heard conflicting stories about how long the work would take, and the availability of the pool during the work. It should be noted that the work commenced with no written notice from the hotel. Normally, there is a note on the hotel's website informing guests about construction hours, and potential disruption. The workers started early and continued to work until 6 pm every day.
The hotel offered use of the smaller and colder Courtyard Pool, but it would have been nice to have had some notice before booking that the Residence Inn pool was going to be unusable or even usable with conditions.
Wondering what the Marriott policy is regarding no advance notice of major work being done? Anyone know?
