IF I GET PLATINUM STATUS IN FEBRUARY 2018, MY PLATINUM STATUS WILL BE END IN FEBRUARY 2020?
If you accrued 75 nights in 2018 you would then have Platinum status from when you achieved that until February 2020.
Unless you are credited with nights through something other than nights actually stayed in 2018, you can't accrue 75 nights by the end of February 2018 because there are only 59 nights available.
Perhaps your question needs clarification.
rocksyao, I suspect you are looking at some rollover nights at the end of 2017, yes? If so, and in conjunction with the 59 nights (give or take depending on how many nights you rollover) idt points out exist in early 2018, yes, you can conceivably get Platinum nailed down through February of 2020. Of some importance, you may want to keep a close eye on the program consolidation plans and announcements. At present, the current Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest programs are slated to merge at the end of 2018. That could alter the timing of status for the ending of 2019. Marriott currently updates status at the end of January or early February. If the programs merge and that date slides a bit, that could be something that impacts the last month or so of your status. Further, you may find that the rules change for future status at the end of next year, and that could impact what you see in 2019. Your best bet is to keep your foot on the gas and keep earning status in the current program, just as you suggest Happy travels!
Sorry, my question is not so accurate. I will get "taste of Platinum" right now. If I achieve this challenge in February 2018, my platinum status will end in February 2020?
It should be.
You may not get a "taste of Platinum" now, unless that's what you were offered. Otherwise, you would not get Platinum status until you complete the Platinum challenge.
As for how long status lasts if you get it in Feb. 2018, nationwide gave you the best answer that any of us can give you at this point. Under the current pre-Marriott/SPG rewards program mergers, yes, you would get status until Feb 2020 - IF you are Gold when you request the challenge (and you'd probably have to complete the challenge before your status dropped, but I'm not 100% sure on that one), so I'm assuming your Gold status would end Feb 28, 2018 by the way you have asked the question. Under the Marriott current program rules, you get status for 14 months after the year in which you earn that status. So, if you get status at any point in 2018, you have status for 14 months from Jan 1, 2019.
However, since the Marriott and SPG rewards programs are expected to have merged by 2020, the terms of that rewards program may change by some effective date before Feb 2020, so the timeframes on how long you keep status may change, so you may not keep Platinum status until Feb 2020, or you may keep it slightly longer -- until the details of the rewards programs merging is released, we can only guess on it.
