The offer gives 25k SPG points for spending $6,000 in the first 3 months, and an additional 10k points for spending an additional $4,000 in the first 6 months.

If you convert the points earned by this offer to MR points at the 1:3 ratio, you earn a minimum of 135k MR points (35k intro bonus + 10k minimum spend at 1 point/dollar) that do NOT count toward MR lifetime status (unless you can transfer them around so they count).  Watch for a potential personal  35k SPG card version of this offer also - let's see if one pops up!

Why am I asking if it is the end of the AMEX partnership?  This offer was provided earlier this year, for both the SPG personal and business versions of the card, but the terms for each were slightly lower.  For the SPG personal card, I believe it was 25k points for $3,000 spend in the first 3 months, and 10k additional points for $2,000 additional spend in the first 6 months.  The respective SPG Business card was 25k points for $5,000 spend in the first 3 months, and 10k additional points for $3,000 additional spend in the first 6 months.  The business offer spend has been increased by $2,000 for the same amount of points and there is no corresponding offer on the personal card (yet).  So, is AMEX putting out the offer again (although raising the requirements) this year to attract (business) spenders to the card to gain as much revenue for the card - before it goes away?  Has Marriott made their credit card decision and they are continuing with Chase?  Is AMEX putting the offer back out this year because Marriott has made their decision, and they are going with AMEX?  Has Marriott made their decision and they are keeping both AMEX and Chase around for the near future?

I believe this may be an indication that the decision is made, since one of the card companies agreements with Marriott expires in 2018, and the other one expires in 2020.  The question is - which decision was made?

So, if you can take advantage of this offer, this may be the last time you see it, so go for it and rack up the points (if you value SPG/Marriott points at a $10k spend clip)!  If we thoroughly want to maximize, refer the offer around Insiders for an additional 7,500 SPG points to the referrer, up to 55k points/referrer!
