How Would You Design a MegaBonus?

Technical troubles with registration aside, this MegaBonus doesn't appeal to everyone. It works okay for folks with many short stays (or those willing to hotel hop). For anyone with just a handful of lengthy stays, this promotion doesn't offer much.

Remember the days where there were essentially two or three "flavors" (Marriott kindly chose the promo they felt suited us best ). Typically we would get one of the following

  • Earn a category 1-5 certificate after every 2 stays, maximum of two certificates.
  • Earn 25,000 points after 20 nights, plus 2,000 points for each additional night, up to a total of 45,000 points.
  • Earn 15,000 points after 15 nights, plus 2,000 points for each additional night, up to a total of 30,000 points.

There have been double points offers - MegaBonus – Get Double Points on Your First 3 Stays

We had the summer deal MegaBonus is here – Earn up to 4,000 bonus points per stay – the sky’s the limit

There was the "Choose Your MegaBonus" Insiders, First Time Ever! Pick Your MegaBonus® – up to 50,000 Points

We've seen promotions based on stays or nights, promotions that earn points, or ones that earn certificates, or both. In general, most  earned a maximum of 40k-60k points for staying 25-30 nights.

Could you design a better MegaBonus? What would it look like?

Who knows, maybe someone involved with creating the next MegaBonus will adopt your idea....

Sorry, that made me laugh.
