I assume I need to call the 800 number. Is there a way to make the reservation on the web and apply it ?
I always make those reservations via the 800 number when using a certificate.

It should help.
Don't call! Easy How-to-Book Online:
Sign-in at Marriott.com, bring up the Category 1-5 property, enter date and "use Rewards Points" to search (use "My Dates are Flexible" if possible to see if PointSaver applies AND check "Special Rates" to see if room price just happens to be less than $100 - and then pay ), hit Find, "Select" room type/points redemption, under "Summary of Charges" choose "Attach the e-certificate" (and select the one with soonest expiration date), hit Book Now. Use bejacob's link suggestion to view what you should be seeing/screen shots. C
****UPDATE: I searched a specific property using "My Dates are Flexible" and the calendar showed no-redemption for most of the month. When I de-selected "Flexible," the specific date I wanted was available with Reward Points redeemed. Huh! Trick learned - check both flexible and specific. C
yes is you use a 1-5 hotel and book using points it will ask you if you want to use the cert
Appreciate the tips.
I also couldn't figure out how to use it last night. Called the 800 number to make my reservation, using the cert on the most expensive night of a 4 night stay. Worked out well!
The 800 number can always help if you can't do it online. Cashed mine from the fall MegaBonus in for this weekend to replace a stay I was previously paying for with points. Glad to have 20,000 points back in my account!
