How do you get into the Concierge Lounge?
You need to be a Gold or platinum member. Else you need to book a room which will give you lounge access.
So as a Platinum Elite, can we just book a regular room, and we'll get access to the CL? No need to book the (more expensive) "CL access, high floor" rooms?
Yes, you are correct. Book the basic room and your card will get you into the lounge providing it is open ie some are closed at the weekends so it is worth checking with the hotel first.
oh this doesn’t apply at RC hotels.
hope this helps.
This does help, thank you!!

1. Attain Gold or Platinum status and you always have CL access in any hotel with a CL.
2. Book a room that includes access.
3. Some hotels sell CL access as an add on for guests who don't qualify,
If neither of those work or sound like viable options to you, opt for what others suggested above.
Best trick is to lurk at the door of the CL with a cup of coffee in each hand. Someone will let you in..
Otherwise pay or earn.
or just try your room key a few times knowing it will fail, look perplexed and someone will see you and just say "my key is not working" and they let you in...
But in all seriousness, You can get into the Lounge by Status with Marriott, Room Type Booked, Or Upgrade at check in. (please don't actually try to get in if you are not supposed to get in.)
And there are the few CL where the Associate asks for your room number and name which I would softly tell the Associate.
I use the door.
In all seriousness, once you reach Gold Platinum, you'll be allowed to use the CL.
These answers were correct in 2017 but now you must have Platinum to get in. Platinum is the new Gold.
We are currently Titanium for this year so are eligible for the CL. My question is this "if I book a room for my sister who will be traveling to NYC" under my name/rewards number and inform the hotel another guest will be traveling instead of me, will she be eligible to receive the perks I would be entitled to?"
You may be able to add your sister's name to the reservation, or check in on the app a day or two before the stay and use the chat feature to add your sister's name and tell them she'll be checking in before you. She'll need to provide a credit card at check-in for incidentals (and she should be able to charge the room to this card at check-out also). I can't guarantee that the card will work for the CL but I would think it should. Technically if you're booking the room under your rewards number, you should be staying there to get the benefits. But hotels are busy and don't generally have the manpower to check (or even care) that you actually showed up...
Although this has been addressed above, I find carrying a shovel and pick axe and diligently digging my way in during the small hours of the night is the cheapest option and also helps you keep fit and avoids having to wait for the treadmill, if lucky you can get to make friends with some great moles along the way!
Great suggestion in consideration that the 25th anniversary of The Shawshank Redemption is soon approaching!
