I received a message for my birthday saying I have a free elite night - yet it doesn't appear anywhere on my account? How would I redeem that offer and use it?
Thank you for reaching out, and happy birthday! Please note this is an elite night credit that goes towards your elite status, and not a free night. Members can also see the breakdown of nights in their profile by clicking on Account Overview, then clicking on Nights, and the pop out window will show Nights Detail and it will appear under bonus nights/promotional.

I am currently a silver elite and did not get this mail nor the elite night credit. Could you please let me know on what the issue could be?

All members can receive an elite night credit towards their status on or around their birthday if they have their birthday listed in their account, and they must be subscribed to receive emails from Marriott. If your account follows both of these actions, and your birthday has already passed this year, please fill our a Customer Support form under the Get Help section at the top of the Insiders homepage with your Rewards number and date of birth so we can have our team look into getting this added for you.
I can vouch as to how the birthday night credit works. Received an email notice that I had a birthday night to redeem the day before my birthday a couple of days ago. Clicked on the link to receive my award and the night showed up the day after my birthday. Now if I could get one night for each of my years, that would be sweet!
You should receive a certificate.
marriottjad, there is no certificate for the birthday elite night credit. It isn't a free night, it simply adds one night to your annual total nights stayed under the promo category. That just means one less night you need to qualify for your next year's status. This topic often leads to confusion. Unfortunately, people mistake the "elite night credit" for a "free night" quite often.
I apologize for the incorrect info. I have printed free night certificates for stays in the past. I guess they were other rewards.
I tried updating by profile to add my birthday, but there wasn't a spot to do that. Anyone have any suggestions?
You can add your birthday by calling 801-468-4000 and speaking with customer support.
