App-driven chat

Has anyone had issues with the Chat/Request feature in the Marriott App?  I'm not talking about an associate not being available but rather when the hotel advertises the App but doesn't support it at all.  Interesting waste of time when it doesn't work and not working randomly at Marriott properties is sort of self-defeating, isn't it?
