Ireland, Late May.  To take a coat, or not?

Headed to the Emerald Isle shortly.  There will be 3 days of 70's weather and the rest of the time, temps will range between 50 (low) and 65 (high), with rain now and then.  Any UK travelers with experience (or Brits/Irish) have any thoughts?  What about gloves, scarves or a hat (for warmth)?  We're Cali folk, so not so much accustomed to cooler weather.

I've packed a couple of cardigans and a light jacket however... ?

Also, any last thoughts of advice about Ireland would also be welcome.
