What are the benefits of joining this group? Just trying to figure this all out.

I only joined because i was trying to figure out how to join something and was feeling left out as i saw some of my friends had already joined.
I think pey nailed the answer to this... It was the first new group I saw, and I joined it so I could figure out how to join a new group. We've been discussing the creation of a secret handshake and a coat of arms, but we need someone creative and artistic to join the team! So, c'mon y'all, join the group!

While we're on the "What is the purpose" theme, in the Rewards and Travel sections;
How do you use Images and People links? I can see images, (along with some ads) - are these Marriott photos (like TripAdvisor photos by mgmt. or TripAdvisor photos) but I can't open them. And People - that appears to be a hodgepodge collection that can't be alphabetize and using Search doesn't find anyone.
We'll save my education about Subspaces for May so I have something to look forward to.
Also - I guess Unanswered Questions are posts that the OP hasn't marked Answered (many, which are actually answered).
Of more significance to me are Unanswered Questions (usually policy issues that can be answered quickly by someone in the know at Marriott) that we ask Moderators that haven't generated a response. This is why I beat the drum about all the energy used on repetitive issues like Birthday Night credits, MegaBonus registration etc., I'm convinced it takes the focus away from issues (like the 2 day cancellation or the Chinese no Plat check in bonus points) that could be tracked down within 24 hours.
The millennial I worked with that sold his blog for millions due to his large following, taught me that one of the keys of successful forums is timeliness and responsiveness. Moderators have proven how diligent they are, yet we still have two or three issues a month that because the Mods aren't tagged, they don't see (because they're tracking down Birthday DMs etc IMO) and therefore we don't hear anything, usually until a veteran Insider (often as a courtesy, not even involved) tags the Mod and then we get an relatively immediate response promising research and then the response.
My point: we shouldn't have to do that, it should be an organic SOP, and now with all the variety of places for things to hide, more and more might go unnoticed which does not help build participation.
pluto77 great question! You do not need to join or follow this group in order to be listed as participating in the Leaderboard. When we were creating the new site for Insiders, we knew we wanted to keep the Leaderboard look and feel as close to possible as it looked on the old site, and we were unable to have it display on the Homepage like it used to. The solution here was to create the Leaderboard as a Group and link to it from the Homepage. Insiders can join the group if they wish to follow along for discussions such as this one!
Thanks for the reply. I'm glad it worked out! I like this space. I'm trying to formulate why... I think it's because its a space where you can sort of - 'see' members. Kind of like a lobby for Insiders. I like it.
Now if we could just put a "big board" type list of recent content for the entire site in this group, it will feel like "home."
Hey bejacob . You can get to the Old Marriott Rewards Insiders Discussion Board! Different but the same
Select "Home" (upper left under MRI logo) then "All Activity" (under photo-block)!
Page down through some "new posts" (that Marriott chooses - "Likes"?), past social media list(s), and VOILA - Old MRI Discussion Board!!!!!!
Sometimes this link works
If not, just hit Home and then All Activity. Hope this helps! C
Right with you j&c. While it's not quite as useful as the old "Big Board," I've been using this method to find recent content. Though I'm worried I might miss something from time to time, it works okay.
Shout out to CommunityManagers. Will bejacob miss any recent content from time to time if he starts at Home and selects "All Activity?" It looks to me like all posts are accounted for in every category but am I missing something? C
Thanks for tagging us in, j&c! The "All Activity" button will bring up what's been happening on the site. To further narrow down the search field, you can also chose between "Most Recent" and "Top & Trending." vaboywnder has also been able to find the following link which will present the most recent content very similarly to the way we used to see it:
It's not exactly 'most recent.' And for large threads, try to find the latest reply and by whom. We're notified that people liked a reply, but not which reply. It's not at all as friendly and convenient as it previously was, no matter how successfully we adjust to the changes.
This is kind of like the Courtyard Bistro concept. It seems apparent that most people don't like it. Marriott is staunchly silent. This is what we've done. This is what you get. We make no apologies and are in blissful denial of any negative impact. Our customers will deal with it.
So sorry for the frustration here, pluto77. We have received your feedback on the topic on each thread and are looking into these questions.

One of the insights provided by the Community Leaderboard is the standing of Community Managers. In spite of carat's helpful responses, the bulk of the CMgrs points are coming from posts, not replies. Combined with the 4 photo Top Banner (which changes about as much as Little Leaguers change their 'lucky' hats) taking up about 20% of the site, the Tweets, the Facebook, logos, brands etc etc, the CMs and Concierge blogs seem to currently (we'll see how it goes) dominate the visual square footage.
Not necessarily, a beef on my part, just an observation. I'm more concerned with finding things and the impact on participation (apparently more than Marriott is).
Well I feel lefted out All the cool peeps are here on this board! IAHFLYR, muppetwrangler, erc, pluto77, bejacob, Jsucool76, peymanagement, SeaTexan, j&c and GoldenBoy (to name a few) all hanging out, talking it through. Did I miss anything? Nice to see familiar ppl milling around. Like to see comments from ya'll! I have never belonged to a more friendly and helpful community! hugs to you all! I do miss being able to easily identify posts from Cara and Nathalie F (who I saw the most from in the prior community layout).
