Will be in Florence in September and couldn't find any high-end Marriott, SPG or MVC properties. Booked the Palazzo Magnani Feroni, which is a former palace with huge suites. Did I miss something in the Marriott/SPG portfolio? Thanks.
Marriott hotel i am aware of is AC Hotel by Marriott Firenze.
Starwoods has a few: The Westin Excelsior and St. Regis.
AC Hotel Firenze is located near Porta al Prato Station and Leopolda Station Exhibition Centre. Just 10 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by tram from Santa Maria Novella Station and historic centre of Florence, ideal to live the Italian Renaissance. Michelangelo's David, Giotto's Tower, Uffizi, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace are just minutes away. This modern Firenze hotel offers: in-room safety-box, minibar, 24h room service and the sophisticated AC Lounge. At the contemporary AC Lounge Chef Vincenzo Crapa will delight your senses with a selection of international dishes. Can't use points. Rate with breakfast only $125 less than the palace we'll be using with better location. Thanks for the tip.
Hi: SPG-wise, the Westin Excelsior in Florence is lovely. We stayed there last year, and found both the rooms and the public spaces to be top-notch. Our city-view room had a fabulous view of the Duomo, and their rooftop bar has wonderful views (and oddles of free food starting around 7:00!). Right on the Arno, at Piazza d'Ognissanti. A couple blocks northwest of there, Il Profeta is a great little restaurant. Have a wonderful time.
