Who has been here?
Should I be worried?
How bad is car traffic mid-day during week on 95 southbound? (Going into MD).
Should I bring my anti-stress rubber duck to cope?
It's a busy airport. It's safe. Traveling south you may hit traffic in 5 miles as people backup to get on the Blue Route (I-476). Then it should flow the next 7 miles into Delaware without issue. Once in Delaware, scoot around Wilmington by taking I-495. It will meet back up with I-95 a few miles before the MD border. No traffic issues on I-95 in MD until you get to Baltimore..if you're going that far.
Thanks. Traffic was semi-heavy but not bad. I'll reserve the anti-stress rubber chicken for tomorrow when I drive through Baltimore and past D.C. on my way to Whytheville, Va.
Rush hour 630AM till around 830 heading into philly on 95 north can be tough and rush hour heading out of philly airport 95 south can be very tough from around 4 till around 630 -700. If you can avoid those times heading south usually isnt too bad. I agree completely with painedplatinum
Thanks for the information. Had a small backup on way south out of the airport, but not to bad. Sounds like I was a little lucky with my timing. Thanks again.
rickyzackybobby next time your at the PHL Airport stay at the Philadelphia Airport Hotel | Philadelphia Airport Marriott as you can drop off the rental car at Hertz, National, Avis and probably one other company right across the terminal road from the hotel. Plus the hotel is connected with a walkway directly into Terminal B, once through security you can walk to the other terminals. Really convenient and the CL always has excellent dinner time food and breakfast. Nathan is a wonderful CL Boss always laughing, super friendly and has his special "One Calorie Desserts".
I have stayed many times with an early morning flight and nice to go out the door and into the security line
