I'm trying to figure out this site and earn credits...I can't send direct messages and can't seem to figure out the credit thing...help!
Here's a link to some useful info.
Getting Started Guide
There are some links in there to topics related to "Participation badges" and credits. Some of the articles are older, but hopefully it should give you some idea of how things work. You get credits for certain activities (likes, following others, asking questions, voting in polls, etc.) Some items, such as "likes" or "follows" have a daily limit of 5 credits. You've made a good start.
BTW, the credits don't give you anything other than the satisfaction of earning them. Some pay close attention to them; others ignore them. Either way, welcome to Marriott Rewards Insiders.
jerseydoll, also welcome. I have been on here for over a year, and still have not figured it all out. I see my name usually in the top ten, but i think that is only because i tend to come on most days and when i see something useful or funny i click like. I also tend to follow new people (I just followed you) as they come on and credits appear for that. About once a month I go through my following list and un-follow those that i have not seen on much. Sadly that is the majority and i end up back with the same old list of regulars. Beyond that, read the link that bejacob sent you and plug and play, but don't too focused on credits as it really is meaningless. As you participate you will figure some of it out, but not all, for example it took me six months to figure out how to acknowledge someone in a post as i did for you and bejacob in this post. I still have not figured out how to get credits by "tagging".
Have fun, participate and we would all love to hear of the ups and downs of your travel experience.
Thanks so much! I had routed around in the older insiders site and found it easier to navigate...now it seems that everything is more complicated...but I'm grateful for the advice and will follow the suggestions...so now I'll be following you too!
Welcome to the "forest" that brightlybob and I live in! Let us know if you discover any unique ways to navigate through the trees.
