Ok I am still Gold Elite for now as I have not been travelling much this year. My questions is where would you stay in Miami that has access to the BEACH and also would love to still be able to find a more full service??
If your budget allows it go to the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. It is is Miami and has a nice private beach. The other full service that actually has beach front is the Marriott Stanton South Beach. There is a Courtyard and Residence nearby that also have a beach front, but the other two are definitely more full service.
If you have to stay more in the middle of the city the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bayne is a great property, it is on the bay though, meaning no beach.
The Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne Bay, stayed there the weekend after Valentine's Day! Beautiful hotel, loved the private beach and the staff were super helpful and accommodating. The private beach was the best though!
The Stanton is right on the beach and to prove it has a daily compulsory fee, which is the real new test of a Miami Beach hotel, they call it the "amenity fee" which includes Beach seats and umbrellas. It's a very good place, I spent 10 nights there redeeming on my honeymoon and it was excellent. The exec lounge has 2 large and small balconies to sit out on during breakfast which is a great way to start your day!
I am really tossing up between Stanton and the Courtyard Cadillac ? I would like to try the Stanton but I am tossing between the 2 since you have to PAY a fee at Stanton for chairs and I am wondering if the Lounge is closed on weekends is it REALLY worth it? I have never been to Miami and this will be our first trip and we also want to shop???
The Stanton is the real deal beachfront-wise and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if at Miami Beach, even with the new fee. Why not try emailing the Stanton and explaining that the fee is off-putting and can they do anything about it? I have heard that working with some places...
The Stanton is on Ocean Drive at 2nd St and the classic Art Deco South Beach and Lummus Park runs from 5th up to 14th. North of 15th, its the boardwalk, but that's not a commercial thing, it's just a wooden walkway running parallel to the beach and is a far nicer walk for those staying North of 20th than along the virtually featureless road to get to Lincoln, Collins and the Art Deco Ocean Drive. The Cadillac CY on 40th St would have to be a lot (lot) cheaper than the Stanton to tempt me..
Not mentioned is The Edition. I've stayed there and it is on the beach and higher end. Not sure of your budget but I would check it out.
We loved the Cadillac and would stay there again. They were very kind to us as Gold - upgraded to corner, ocean-facing room. It is about a 20 minute walk to South Beach shopping and restaurants. C
Agree!!! Marriott Stanton is a good option if you can not afford the Ritz. Great staff. Great beach. Lots of restaurants nearby. Very clean. Nice touch having cold refreshing drinks when you walk in. Take care with the charges!!! They charge $42 per night to valet park your car (only option). A beach chair is another charge (not included in the other resort fee).
If you like CY brand the Cadillac is the best option.
If I wanted to contact the Stanton Hotel where would I find the email?
