Currently says fare for uber from JFK to my hotel in manhattan is $49. Does that include tolls for the ride from the airport to manhattan? I am only travelling one way but will I be charged for tolls when the driver goes back to the airport?
pilam76, no you will not be charged for any tolls once you are out of the car. And, yes, that rate quote includes tolls that are anticipated. Their program is set up to automatically add tolls incurred en route to your tab, but that's all. I love Uber - I use it all over the country... you might even say, nationwide
Uber doesn't have any hidden costs, and everything is already being taken under consideration when they calculate your fare. So what you see on your screen is what you'll pay.
The cost you see is what you will be charged. It is a flat rate.
I love Uber, I've used it in LA, Paris, London, Dallas etc.
Nice thing is you get to your destination you just hop out of the car, no transactions to waste time. A minute later you get an email with your fare charge.
Tipping is optional and depending on the driver, I will access then tip. I would say 99% of the time the cars are clean and new(er)...
JFK to Manhattan is a set price by cab as well. Our last visit took us to the Marriott Marquis in Times Square for $50. Not sure what it is now or if Uber is any cheaper?
