Has any "Insider" stayed here that could give me some feedback? We are going to NYC for our anniversary next month and wanted to try a different hotel this time around..... Thanks for any comments....
etwhite, haven't stayed here before, but I was very pleased with my recent stay at the Renaissance New York Midtown!
Review: Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel
Nice, new hotel, with great staff, nice lounge, and larger than average rooms. Would totally stay here again
Thank you kharada46. Great review!!
I sayed there two years ago and I loved it!!!! It is really special. The hotel is very charming, the décor is really tasteful I felt like a princess. It is centrally located for getting around the city. Everyone associated with the hotel is extremely customer focused in making sure you had a great stay. I highly recommend this hotel t, you can't go wrong staying there. You will love Matilda and the history of the Property.
Ren at Midtown is different pretty new, moderm a different concept. Love it too . But as you are telling that you will be celebrating the Algonquin should be your choice. Enjoy !!!!!
Thank you monisame!! I read about the history of this hotel and it seems like an amazing place.
Yes it is. !!! Amazing in every way.
etwhite I stayed there not too long ago and it was very enjoyable. It is an old time NYC style hotel with rooms on the smallish side. However, if you like history, this place has it. There is the "Blue Lounge" in the lobby that used to play host to many Broadway actors/actresses. It is very convenient to Times Square without being in Times Square like the Marquis. I would definitely stay there again.
Thank you @mustanggt!! We have stayed at the Marriott Marquis and the Renaissance at Times Square and enjoyed both. (I prefer the Renaissance myself, more quiet!!!) We just thought we would try something different this time. I booked this location and look forward to seeing Matilda or Hamlet!!!
The hotel is very quaint and most of the rooms a bit on the smaller side. If you want a place with slightly larger rooms check out the East Side Marriott. Not that much farther from all that is the noise and crazy of Times Square (fun for some) yet within walking distance to many awesome dining spots, theaters, and Times Square. I know the East Side does have the new M Club, don't think the Algonquin has either the M or CL.
I don't think you can go wrong at either place just depending on what you want from the location and rooms.
Thank you iahflyr!! We have never stayed at the East Side Marriott, so that would definitely be a choice. As previously stated, we just wanted to try something different this time around. Thanks for the post!!!
I've stayed in the other two Autograph Collection Hotels in NYC, but never the Algonquin. It's on my list if they ever slip up and post a nice rate!!
