When you start your new Marriott rewards year with 58 nights already in the bank!
What is your happiness?
702rugbyref, happiness is starting the year with 56 nights in the bank, lifetime platinum in hand, and a strong sense of optimism that Marriott is going to give us another level to shoot at enjoy in 2018! Good stuff! Happy New Year!
Thanks! I enjoy the optimism for sure. I joined MR 25 months ago and have over 325 nights accumulated. My goal is to achieve lifetime status ASAP but realistically it will be probably 5 years only because of the points.
702rugbyref You can supercharge your points by getting a Marriott Rewards CC from Chase. You'll get 5X points on all your Marriott spending, plus points on other spending as well.
I got both the personal and business...chaching but right now need to hit my spending limits on my AA Silver Card so I can get the buddy ticket, airline $$ spent and points ($50k =$6k towards hitting airline needs). Will be done by August and then everything goes on MR card for points and bonus nights.
IS there discussion on a new level? Wonder that could provide.
Happiness is not not having the sinking feeling of seeing the counter re-set to 0 for the first year since i was a silver. I start this year with 33 carry over, which is a lot for one who has retained status by the skin of my teeth for the last four years and is strictly a leisure traveler. The carry over gives me the flexibility to try a SPG or two as well.
102 carried over
Happiness is knowing that me seeing the counter all across the board sitting at ZERO and not having to care about it being Lifetime.
Happiness is being LTP with more than 1,000 nights, just in case another higher level is introduced at the end of the year, and being able to start trying out some SPG properties.
Double secret level?
Happiness is....seeing you are at 1 and taking on the the challenge of starting over again! ....ok I am just being really optimistic here
Happiness is..... an upgrade to a suite with an AWESOME view!!!!!
My happiness is being surprised with Platinum Premier status, although Im not sure what the benefits are..Im a few thousand points away from Lifetime Platinum status..then I will have to find a new hobby..
ppino69 The finish line is in sight. Don't stop till you cross it!
I didn't find any real benefit with PP but fully enjoy lifetime Platinum .
Ahhh PP status...
How do you get the carry over? I'm a newbie.
Traveling , and the adventures and memories that come with it...
Happiness is being a 'double platinum'. I'm lifetime platinum and now my MVC ownership level also provides platinum. I should get a special badge for this. Since most of my vacation stays are at MVC resorts, I also don't have to worry about resort fees, exhorbitant local taxes, or parking.
Maybe that should qualify you for Plat Premier! I also have the MVC Plat but only have LTG on my earnings. Hope to have LTP one of these days.
Seeing my lifetime points go over 5,000,000 and counting.
Happiness is having the privilege to be able to travel, to be inspired, the be open to other cultures and new experiences.
I'll leave it to that.
Great reply yogib.
Happiness is beating cancer and being able to travel and live a normal life, again!
Sure it is!!!!. Health comes first. We have to take care of it since it is the only place we have to live in.
Fabulous news phctourist
Best reason posted so far. Congratulations.
That news should make even Falcon fans overjoyed, great news for sure phctourist......so very happy to read this as you've been on many of our hearts and prayers.
phctourist, In addition to your wonderful recovery, you were very open with your struggles with this terrible disease on here on insiders and I hope we helped you keep your hope. I sent off 100 dollars to the Canadian Cancer society tonight and I challenge our insiders to do the same for their country.
Thank you pey iahflyr and all my other Insider friends for your responses and wishes. The year has not been as bad as I would have expected and I am travelling some. I hope to be back to completely normal and back on skis next winter.
Again, Thank you all!
Happines depends upon ourself. Aristotle.!
