Just had another fantastic stay at this wonderful property in the heart of Docklands, just 20 mins away from the centre of town on the Jubillee line. Stayed 3 nights this time, the rates at weekends are very good and I would urge anyone coming to London to try out this hotel. Ok you can't walk to Buckingham Palace and the other touristy stuff, but its the next stop on the Jubillee line to the 02 arena, so great if you are going to a concert there, and of course its right in the middle of the financial district. Like Canary Wharf, I always stay at the Marriott Downtown in New York, and again, this is not in the centre, but it sure makes up by being a great hotel, just like Canary Wharf.
When at Canary Wharf try the hotels Curve restaurant for some great fish dishes (and steak) and the executive lounge (open 7 days a week!) is a great location overlooking the internal waterway and has great canapes, and a very good breakfast. The staff of this hotel are amazing, so friendly and welcoming and the rooms are very nice indeed. The hotel has a contemporary feel without being too trendy like some of the updated Renaissance properties. Great bar with a good atmosphere.
