I got an email saying that I have earned one elite night credit...so is this a free night stay and if not what do I do with this? Also I did not receive one for my birthday in 2015. I have been a member since 2014.
It is not a free night stay. It is a one night credit toward earning status. To get to Silver you need 10 nights, Gold 50 nights, and Platinum 75 nights. This credit just puts you one night closer to reaching the next level.
Oops bejacob. You and I both posting at the same time. For the sake of the OP, glad we are in agreement!
I totally could have used this information when I received my first one ever, and before I wasted an hour on hold trying to book a free night with it. All the verbiage I've seen lead me to believe it was an actual free night credit as in it is a credit to stay for free for one night. That's how Omni Hotels uses that vernacular.Heck! While I was booking my trip I even received a message box about calling to use my free night certificate. I was like, "What free night certificate?" Now that I know what it is, I'm cool, but man, I can't believe I patiently waited on hold for that long just to find out there is a distinct difference between a "free night credit" and a "free night certificate."
Hi b423. You don't do anything with the elite night credit. No it isn't a free night stay. It is a one night credit towards the next tier in Marriott. I see you are a blue member. Get 10 nights and you will be silver. The elite night credit counts as one towards that 10.
There is often talk on here about if everyone gets an elite night credit on their birthday. It can sometimes be a bit hit and miss.
This just adds to your total of nights stayed. It is not a free night stay
