Cairo Marriott kudos

We recently stayed 4 nights at the Cairo Marriott in a Nile view room on the 16th floor using reward points.  I was initially disappointed in our 5,000 points per night upgrade as instead of the Nile, our room looked out over a well lit and loud play field.  It was pointed out to me that from a corner of the balcony, the river was visible but as I wasn't happy another room would be found. The second room had two queen beds and a marginally better view.  Still not happy, the bell hop tried again and this time came up with King bed, high floor and decent nile view from inside the room.  From that point forward, our stay was delightful.  We were so pleased with the tour  of the pyramids the concierge in the lounge arranged for us, we asked her to arrange a side trip to Luxor.  It was perfect - every detail was taken care of.


The hotel itself is gorgeous and steeped in character.  The gardens and pool area are lush, quiet and comfortable.  The neighborhood is delightful to walk in and a good introduction to Cairo.


Every Egyptian we met made a point of making us feel welcome and safe - including the wonderful staff of the beautiful Cairo Marriott.
