hello fellow Marriott rewards members..
Has as anyone heard any details on Delta hotels rewards program intergration?
AS I understand it, all Delta members will keep their current Delta status, benefits and Air Canada earning structure for the rest of this year. At that point the Delta scheme will end and you'll become a Marriott Rewards member at the elite level set by the Marriott Rewards scheme, 10 nights for Silver, 50 for Gold and 75 for Plat. However that's the simple bit, the complexity arises where a Delta member is also Marriott Rewards and could by adding his nights in both schemes achieve a higher level than in either scheme individually, ie Delta 32 nights and Marriott 44 nights - neither figures are sufficient individually for Gold but added together the member would actually be Plat. As of yet no word, probably because the IT implications of this are, in comparison to the relatively small number of members for whom it would make any difference, horribly expensive. Expect a fair solution from Marriott, in other words the member above will indeed become Plat, but an inefficient software patch that will almost certainly require CS manual intervention
Happy to look into confirmation around this, jim33015!
Disappointed to learn today that lifetime nights stayed with Delta in the Delta Privilege program were not transferred over to Marriott Rewards when the Privilege program was retired. Any other folks in a similar situation?
