Today the IATA announced a global standard for carry on bags that will be adopted by 30 out of 40 member airlines (so far).  This promises to make traveling with your carry on much easier, especially when traveling abroad.  However, as is the case with any "good news" in the airlines industry, there's a catch... Maximum carry on bag sizes will be shrinking by half an inch.  That means your 22" carry on will no longer be allowed on as a carry on.  The new dimensions will be 21.5x13.5x7.5

How do you feel about this?  This global standard will particularly impact those like iahflyr that travel exclusively with a carry on.
