TRAVEL AND LEISURE CLOSE-UP-20 March 2009-New Hotel Announced by Marriott in London


Marriott (NYSE:MAR) has signed a franchise agreement with Kew Green Hotels for the launch of a 218-room Courtyard by Marriott London Gatwick Airport.


GBP69 per night is the special introductory rate. Rooms are to be equipped with luxury bedding, modern bathrooms, ergonomically designed desks and chairs, high speed Wi-Fi internet access, coffee/tea maker, iron and ironing board, and a flat-screen television. Sofa, fresh coffee machine and plush robes are additional features for twenty-two junior suites.


Dining options to be offered are all-day casual dining and the Volare Restaurant, which features a Mediterranean inspired menu and a 24-hour 'Marketplace'. Also offered are a fitness centre, three meeting rooms with 1,200 square feet of meeting space, Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and a business centre.
