I spent two nights last week in the Metro Center Marriott.
Wednesday 2/18 was Ash Wednesday. It is a day when Catholics and many other Christians do not eat meat. (It's the day after Mardi Gras).
The evening snack in the concierge lounge was meatloaf. This was surprising because many restaurants/food service make a special effort to serve fish on Ash Wednesday (and Fridays during Lent, but that not an issue for CL). Serving meatloaf on Ash Wednesday...is just kinda clueless.
I thought it was a unique oversight, but another co-worker who stayed at a Residence Inn last week said their Wednesday evening menu was ham or turkey.
This should be an easy fix and Catholics are not an insignificant group.
It would be a nice touch if Marriott would make an effort to provide a seafood or vegetarian option on Ash Wednesdays.
