NYC:  Marquis or Algonquin?

Hi Everyone,

I have a 3 night stay coming up in New York in March.  It's during the week, and I need a place at or near Times Square.  It's for business, so I'm not really looking for the tourist/party crowd.  Last time I stayed at the Marriott Marquis, and it was fine but I didn't really care for the "vibe".  I did appreciate the concierge lounge, though.  And the rooms were huge.  But I might like to try something with a little more character this time.

I can get a very reasonable room rate at the Algonquin.  Is that worth a try?  It doesn't have a concierge lounge, does it?

Any other suggestions?  The Lexington also has very reasonable rates, but I haven't heard very good things about that place.

Thanks in advance!
