My passport will expire in April. I will be needing it in March. I just sent my current one off in the mail along with my renewal application, etc. This is the first time I have had to renew a passport. Talk about being wrapped up in an object, I feel forlorn without it! It is my most treasured travel souvenir. Someone told me that they will send my old passport back (canceled) along with my new one. Does anyone know if this is true? I couldn't find anything about it on the State Department website. I took photos of my old one, just in case I never see it again. Also, does anyone know if when you travel with a passport that is very soon to expire, do any countries (particularly in the EU) typically deny entry because of it?
I love my passport!
