London is such a wonderful place to eat! All different cultures and cuisines.
Some of my favourites, ranging from very cheap to very expensive. The list is by no means complete, that would take forever.
The Harp pub Covent Garden. Terrific sausages in a submarine roll. But get there early, they soon sell out!
Le Gavroche, Mayfair. Top French restaurant, top chef (Michel Roux), top prices. But worth every penny!
Roux at Parliament Square. Another Roux restaurant but less formal. Terrific food and brilliant upstairs bar for a pre dinner drink.
The Wolseley, next door to the Ritz. Very buzzy. Excellent afternoon tea, and the all day menu has some Jewish classics such as chicken soup, chopped liver etc. Wonderful.
The Guinea, Bruton Place. Best proper English steak & kidney pie in London. But get there early and order one for when they are ready.
The Golden Pagoda, Chinatown. IMHO the best Chinese restaurant in London.
Sanctuary House pub, Westminster. Excellent fish & chips.
Colosseo, Victoria Street. Excellent Italian.
Carluccio's. Any of them. My favourite Italian chain.
And so many, many more.
