So what are the Marriott Insider Credits for? Are they worth anything?
The Insider Credits are used to track your level of participation in Insiders. As you gain more credits you earn different badges. The credits have no value.
Thanks for your question gp13581 and vaboywnder is right. Those credits help gauge participation in the community, What is my Participation Meter?
And here are related FAQs about badges.
This is a great way for Marriott to keep the complaining "in house." No one can read the comments unless they are signed in, Marriott gets to review all the comments, and if you get issues off your chest without commenting on Trip Advisor, Yelp, or on social media, they aren't out there for the general public to see....IMO.
Shucks....I was hoping that the credits might actually amount to something. It would be nice if there was at least some additional benefit from Marriott for our participation. Oh well, at least I can glean an occasional tip regarding particular properties.
No worries marriottmarauder, it's a great community with tremendous experience and advice to share.
Each month we recognize outstanding contributors as Insider of the Month (learn more) and at the end of the year we recognize outstanding contributors from the past year in the Roady Awards (learn more). And of course we have the Review Your Stay Sweepstakes through June 30, 2013 !
Wow, communitymanagers, the "review your stays sweepstake through June 2013". Sounds great, how do I participate?
Think about it.... Careful now!
communitymanagers Are the credits given at the rate of 1 point per MRI activity? One comment is one point, one photo album is one point, one blog post is one point?
tomd68, take a look at the post What are Participation Badges?
Also look at the "Missions" on your reputation page (sample below).
Activities offer varying points ranging from 1 to 10. You can earn a point for "liking" a post up to a maximum of 5 per day. Hope that helps a little.
