Here is the 411 on Sonoma.
That sure looks like great fun!,
Thanks for sharing this plan.
So much to do in that area.
Not a bad place to hang out but we like Paso Robles better.
Many thanks. I was thinking of doing something like this. What time of year would you recommend?
Anytime in the Fall since it is harvest time and there's a good chance the weather will be great.
I just got back from Sonoma County--one of my favorite places to visit. It is less crowded than Napa and has its own identity--more rustic and farm-like/country. Great food there too--Farmhouse Inn & Restaurant in Forestville and Terrapin Creek Cafe in Sonoma County. The article highlights Healdsburg (great small town); unfortunately, the amazing restaurant there (Cyrus) is no longer open.
I hear The Lodge is nice. The Courtyard Novato there is a nice Courtyard; it is a little bit of a drive to get to key Sonoma County spots, but that is the case with a lot of Sonoma since it is so spread out. The pros at that Courtyard: clean and fresh decor with reasonable room rates for the area. Unfortunately, that Courtyard used to be a Category 4 hotel and now it is a Category 5 hotel.
Yes Cyrus was a great place, and friend was sous chef there, and we're all sad that it's gone now. Sonoma is fun.
