I was about 6 years old when I went to see my fisrt ballgame. My grandfather and my dad took me to see the Cubs play the Cardinals at Wrigley. I was so excited to just be there in person. The ballpark looked so huge to me and I was fascinated by everything in the stadium, watching the people, smelling the hot dogs and popcorn, as much as what was going on in the game on the field. I also remember everyone going crazy when the Cubs scored a run and my dad and grandfather pointing out to me each of the players I had heard about but had never actually seen. I couldn't tell you who won the game, but I still remember telling everyone in school the next day how much fun it was and how I couldn't wait to get back.
