When I was a kid we used to play baseball in back of an old building with a great field for playing. The only caveat was right behind home plate there was a concrete pit about six feet deep by five wide and eight long right where the catcher would normally be positioned. Well we just propped a piece of plywood up at an angle and put our catcher in the pit with a glove and a football helmet. He would then toss the ball up to our second catcher who threw it to the picture. Oh yeah, those were the the days!
