I was born outside the US and didn't get introduced to baseball till I started work after college. It quickly became obvious that baseball was one of America's ingrained pastimes. As part of a big consulting firm, I had many team bonding events. And quite a number of these were for baseball games. Within the first year working in Chicago, as part of my training class, then my various project teams and other bonding events with co-workers, I quickly became familiar with both the Cubs and the White Sox. Talking to my colleagues on a lazy afternoon while watching the teams play led to some pretty deep and long lasting friendships.
