My 42story begins just like any other little league baseball game when I was 10 years old. Everything was fairly routine till the third inning. I was playing second base and fielding a routine grounder when the ball took a bad hop and hit me right in the middle of the face. It hurt like heck and I was embarrassed. I sat out part of the game for a bit to recover. But I was now thinking to myself, "what if this happens again?" I was hesitant to play second base and was afraid of the ball. I came back into the game and was a bit hesitant at first, but when the next play came to me, I field it just as I always had. I didn't let the fear get the best of me.
