My friends and family always ask me, "why do you like baseball, it is always so boring and I can never sit through a game." Although I will admit that there are other sports that are more exciting to watch both on TV and in person, I think what I love most about baseball are the stats. Baseball revolves around records - single season records, all time records. As a numbers guy, I love poring through these numbers, especially when I am participating in fantasy baseball where stats rule. There is no better feeling than when you can whip out a stat to a fellow baseball aficionado and settle a seemingly trivial yet ever so important argument about who was the better pitcher, Walter Johnson or Justin Verlander.
