Baseball as America’s Pastime:

My best basball story is from the mid 1950's at Ebbets Field.  Across the street from the right field wall of Ebbets Feild was gas station and small parking lot where some of the players parked their cars when they came to play a game.  My father knew the owner of the station.  He was very nice to me and helped me get auotgraphs for Roy Campenella (#39 andmy favorite player and great catcher) and others when they came to pick up their cars after the baseball game.
