I was just talking to my dad about this the other day....

Remember how back in the 70s and 80s when a team was formed in the Spring, one of the first things the team did was fix their field - I mean really fixed it! Usually it required at least a whole saturday's worth of work, all of the dads and all of the boys would gather, remove all of the weeks, usually seed, drag the field, and clean all the junk that had accumulated over the winter and trash from the previous season...I was reminded of all of this because I was talking with some younger co-workers who though I had completely lost it! They didn't think their kids should have to clean their field, that they paid MAINTENANCE to do that! Well EXCUSSSSEEEE ME!

I think there is something to be said for taking pride in your teams home field as well as establishing a work ethic that can last a life time!
