2007 was a very interesting year for records. Barry Bonds was able to break the total HR record, but it was fascinating to go to games because some people were cheering very strongly for him, yet even more people were booing him anytime he got to the plate.
I had the privilege of watching two games towards the end of his home run quest and I felt like I was an unwilling participant in an historic event. The opposing pitchers would rarely pitch to him (walking him as often as they were able) because they didn't want to be a part of his record. So I am glad that I was able to see one of the great players play, but it is unfortunately that there is an asterisk over his entire career because of events that happened towards the end.
