2004 Red Sox

I've never been much of a baseball fan, but as a Bostonian and a general sports fan, I was compelled to watch the 2004 Red Sox as they strove to beat the curse that haunted them for 86 years. Three games into their seven game series against the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series, it looked like another lost season in devastating fashion.

Down 4-3 in the 9th inning of game four, it looked hopeless. The miraculous comeback that the 2004 Red Sox made to win game four, the rest of the series, and ultimately the World Series, made me a fan of the game for life. The passion and excitement of that year's playoffs completely changed my view on what I thought was a slow and boring sport. In fact, I think that team's triumph really brought Baseball back into the spotlight.
